Thin Veneer
All of our masonry units are also available in thin veneer, giving you the same color, texture, and architectural character in a lighter-weight format. Thin veneer masonry units are manufactured to replicate the appearance of full-depth block or stone, but at a reduced thickness—typically around 1 to 2 inches instead of the standard 4 inches or greater used in structural masonry. Because thin veneer is non-load bearing, it is applied as a facing material over properly prepared substrates such as concrete, masonry, or framed wall assemblies, allowing designers and contractors to achieve the look of traditional masonry without the structural requirements of full-depth units.
The primary difference between thin veneer and standard masonry units is function and installation. Full-depth masonry units are structural components designed to support loads and form the core of a wall system. Thin veneer, by contrast, is used as a cladding material to enhance aesthetics while reducing weight, material usage, and installation complexity. This makes thin veneer an efficient option for renovations, interior feature walls, and projects where structural support or foundation capacity may be limited. By offering our entire masonry selection in thin veneer, we provide flexibility to maintain design continuity across both structural and non-structural applications.
